Once a year we organise a two-day symposium which is aimed at veterinary surgeons working in the field of small animal medicine as well as students of veterinary medicine in their basic and advanced studies.
In cooperation with Ordine dei Medici Veterinari della provincia di Udine from Italy and Österreichische Tierärztekammer— Landesstelle Kärnten from Austria we organise the Alpe-Adria Diagnostic Cytology Workshop every year; every three years it takes place in Slovenia.
We support and participate in the organisation of meetings of the Dermatological Section of SiSAVA, VOG (Veterinary Orthopedic and Neurology Group) and Veterinary workshop on electroporation based treatments (co-organised by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ljubljana and Institute of Oncology Ljubljana).

The Slovenian Small Animal Veterinary Association (SiSAVA) is inviting you to our Symposium which will be held in Portoroz, Portus Congress Center in April 3. - 5. 2025. The symposium will be on location Hotel Slovenija, Portoroz, Kongres Center Portus, Slovenia.
SiSAVA has been involved in the development of small animal medicine in Slovenia for over 25 years.
Every year SiSAVA organises a two-day symposium on current diseases of small animals with a pre-congress day. SiSAVA co-organises the Alpe-Adria Diagnostic Cytology Workshop every year.
SiSAVA supports and participates in the organisation of meetings of the Dermatological Section of SiSAVA, VOG (Veterinary Orthopedic and Neurology Group) and Veterinary workshop on electroporation based treatments.
SiSAVA has participated in organisation of courses in orthopaedic surgery in cooperation with AO Foundation.
SiSAVA informs its members about the congress activities of related associations in neighbouring countries and elsewhere in Europe.
SiSAVA members are entitled to a reduced registration fee for congresses and symposia organised by WSAVA and FECAVA, and also for those organised by national associations of small animal veterinary surgeons who are members of FECAVA or WSAVA.
SiSAVA prepares and edits
the translation of the FECAVA and WSAVA guidelines, posters and infographics to Slovene language.
Vetstream database. SiSAVA members have free access to the online database Vetstream Vetlexicon, which provides online clinical information on veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits and horses.
SiSAVA represents Slovenian veterinarians working in small animal practice and participates in the development of quality standards and recommendations.
SiSAVA membership is voluntary.
The membership fee is valid until December 31 of the current year. After one year, the member can renew the membership by paying the amount approved by the General Assembly, otherwise the membership will be suspended and she/he will not be able to enjoy the benefits of membership.
The membership fee in 2024 is € 60 for the extension of membership. If you apply for membership for the first time, you pay an additional accession fee of € 15.

The purpose of the Dermatological Section of SiSAVA is to spread knowledge in veterinary dermatology in Slovenia. The Section fulfills this purpose in the following form:

The Dermatological Section was founded in Lipica in 2009 on the initiative of European Society of Veterinary Dermatology (ESVD). The Section consists of about 30 members.
